It's odd they did two hard pulls for that card. Did Chase say anything about the COs?

Chase Freedom is a good card regardless of the $2k CL. You just may have to pay it off more often to keep your utilization down if you plan on applying for more credit soon. Otherwise, don't sweat it and just enjoy the rewards.

My Chase Freedom doesn't get more than about $1500/quarter put through it anyway due to the 5% reward cap.

I'm right on the $5k border. When I request a CLI in about 6 months, I'm going to ask for the Signature designation as well. It doesn't cost anything more and you get concierge service. Then, I can pit Visa and Amex concierge against one another in a battle.

Yeah every time I talk with them they talk about the COs. I really wonder why they approved it, I'm starting to wish they hadn't. It will never grow.

The thing is, my Discover More is pretty much the same card, only that WILL grow with me, where Chase never will. It also gives some nice perks (though Chase does too) that I find more useful than the perks with Chase. Because of the fact that Chase will never go anywhere, I'd be surprised if I keep it a lot longer as I'm trying to really see the point now that I know the scoop (that getting back in with Chase probably never will happen in a way that the cards can grow with me).

Congrats! That is interesting that your account number didn't change. I am assuming yours starts with 4266?

One of the reasons I have never changed my worthless Slate MasterCard to Freedom is because Chase is notorious for upgrading to World and I didn't want my account number to change. I guess if they have started to BIN mix there is no reason to keep it a Slate.

Excellent! They must have started to BIN mix then. I might have to change my Slate to Freedom.
