You emailed them? Good luck.

Yes, someone, perhaps you, posted that BofA is going to start issuing EMV chips 7/17. Glad to see that EMV is slowly starting to spread. Unfortunately they are Chip + Signature.....

World Elite: So I called Citibank 4/24 (power went out and I was bored) and spoke to a regular CSR (from India). Big mistake. She told me my Dividend World MasterCard was not eligible and the only way to make it eligible was to upgrade to World Elite. I didn't really want World Elite as that would have caused a new 5466 16 account number (mine is 5424 18) but to get the Chip I was willing. So she said it would take 45 days for the upgrade. S

o on 6/9 I check my online account management; account number ended in the same 4 as before and there was no note on the account regarding a new card having been sent. So on 6/11 I took the advice of some people on MyFico that said to contact them via Twitter. Normally the Twitter team will send a secure link to do an online chat (same password as online account management) but it was not working that day. So a rep called me at home. He was American and knew exactly what I was after. So I heard him typing away on the keyboard and then he tells me that my new Chip card would be sent within 5 days. Note: I did tell him that I could care less about the World Elite upgrade and that my primary concern was to get the EMV chip without having to change from Dividend, and he must have taken that to heart because exactly 5 days later in my mailbox was my normal, Dividend World MasterCard with the same 5424 18 account number only it had the EMV chip.

If I weren't so attached to my account number (memorized since 2000) I would have been bummed because the silver MasterCard logo is hot. As it is, my Dividend is sockdrawered in favor of my BankAmericard Cash Rewards card. I have not been happy with the Dividend's 5% bonus catagories this year. Through September, Citibank has not/will not offer(ed) gas or groceries in 2012! I do recommend the @AskCiti team on Twitter-they were AWESOME and restored some of the faith in Citibank that I had lost in them over the years.

Every time I've called Chase I've gotten an American. But I emailed them asking for my cut off date, or the date it reports and I got a bulletpoint response that because my balance is 0 (despite him seeing lots of activity) he could not give me my statement.

I was like huh? I don't care about the statement I just want to know when it reports so I can let a 0 balance hit. Then I saw the foreign name on the email and I thought that explains it.

I'm worried they will end up like amex and start to have it that you call a foreign CSR center too.

And I have nothing against those people I just can't understand them well which makes communication difficult, and they rarely if ever seem able to help me while most American CSRs do in my experience.

I could swap for the Signature but Chase didn't give me one and I didn't ask.

I'm kinda wondering since I had COs with Chase years ago, if that's going to hold me back forever with them, like it did with Amex. I'd like to get the CSP someday, but after my Amex experience I'm paranoid these guys are going to make up delinquent accounts and blacklist me for no current reason. Even if that doesn't happen, getting a CSP is probably just a wild fantasy. Once you burn them, that's it, I really wonder why I recon'd it. I took two pulls for a 2k card that probably has no growth potential - not a very smart move. They do have good rewards though.

Anyway in hindsight, in my experience, once you burn a company, don't bother with them again. Even if you get in, you may not like what you get. It's going to be different. There is competition out there, go to the competition and start over and don't do it again. (And no I don't blame them for feeling that way after getting burned, not in the least).

Congrats! I prefer the Signature for its holographic Visa logo. It is the little things. Let us know if your account number changes.

I had good luck in the past with Chase's online customer service, but lately not so much. I may try calling the Executive office in Chicago for an APR reduction on my Slate.

they can. there's a specific reason that this cashback card offers concierge service and no other cashback card does.
