I guess I should stop applying for cards. I need to wait 5 years until I get my 30K miles from Barclays and another 5 years for that to transfer to my Divdend Miles account before I do anything impulsive.

Well, I can't talk, when I was in my twenties I opened quite a few cards at once....but now 10 years later, those that I have kept have aged quite nicely. So, if you are just starting out, or returning to primeville after a detour, opening a few cards at once may just be better than spacing them out. But yeah, 5 in one year probably should do it for now.

Is that $300 after spending a certain amount, or $300 after first use?

I have easily gotten the AF (if I had paid a AF) value from the card. Free UA Club membership for me and spouse is great and basically covers AF by itself. The concierge has been useful and comparable if not better than others at similar AF. Gotten a few other customized benefits. If I had to pay for AF, I would.

Did you not pay AF because you had investments/savings with JPM/Chase, or did you call and ask/request to have it waived?

Just applied. Waiting on the decision... How long should I wait before calling to check the automated application status number? And I read somewhere that it's not good to call / not good to call more than once, is that true?
