You can get one as well. All BankAmericard are eligible.

I just called to request an EMV on my BofA Cash Rewards and they said I should receive it within 5-7 business days.

Thanks so much for the heads-up.

Yeah, I emailed customer service and they are sending one out 5-7 days. They did offer various other shipping methods for a cost.

If you go online to a new application they have radio buttons to request a chip card during the application. Very cool....just wish it were Chip + PIN

Just to confirm, these are chip + pin cards, not chip + signature, correct? I don't have any immediate use for such a feature, but I may request one just because.

It is my understanding that these are Chip + Signature. The only Chip + PIN cards available in the US are issued by the UN Federal Credit Union and Andrews Federal Credit Union. You are SOL in joining the UN FCU unless you are part of the UN but anybody can join Andrews FCU.

It is looking more and more that the US will stay with Chip + Signature which is very disappointing. The change to Chip + PIN would be very expensive and it is believed that RFID NFC payments (paypass/paywave also used with cell phones) is the future of card payments so nobody wants to invest in the EMV chips any more than they are already having to. It just makes me mad how the US always has to be different....no metric system, finding a diesel car is like picking up chop sticks with your bu tt cheeks etc......

Wait, what? You called and asked for the EMV chip and they told you it was not available? Well, it is. I emailed them from my account online (you could also do an online chat) and he knew exactly what I was talking about and said that it will be sent in 5-7 biz days. I also have the BankAmericard Cash Rewards card. Mine is a Visa Signature...not sure if that makes a difference. For instance, many of Citibanks EMV cards are available only as World MasterCard. Is your Cash Rewards a Visa Signature with an account number starting 4313?

I would go online on your account page and either chat or email them to request it.

Mine is the MasterCard version. I just sent them an email. I'll see what they say. The two people on the phone just now said it was strictly for new customers only and existing customers couldn't add it until a new card was issued at expiration.

Hmmmm. Well I will have to wait to see what I get in the mail before I can 100% say yes but both reps that I emailed said that my EMV chip card was coming. My BofA is 11 years old; switched from World Points Visa Signature to BankAmericard Cash Rewards Visa Signature in March. I wonder if they don't offer the EMV chip on the MasterCard yet as they have to get the card stock from a third party vendor. For instance, my Citibank Dividend World MasterCard with the EMV chip is made by Oberthur so the bank might just have purchased card stock for Visa Signatures....the Virgin Airlines Amex also has a chip I noticed. Who knows...let us know what they tell you.

I will for sure. Just in speaking with American Express a few minutes ago about something else, I was told that the deadline for the US set by the companies is 2015 that all cards have to be converted. I've noticed more and more terminals have the slots in merchants now as well.
