Yes the card itself has many many scratches on it after only 10 or so swipes, that being said I still would not want to give up the metal type design for the plastic "scratch resistant" version.

World vs World Elite

Just to confirm and to revive an old thread, but is your CSP a world ELITE? or just a World Mastercard? If its elite, it should say WORLD ELITE on top of the logo, if not, it should only say WORLD. World and World Elite provide completely different types of service & perks. MC did not do a good job on branding these tiers, just about everyone is confused with this topic. Remember, a regular World card can have a cool looking silver logo just like the World Elite.

Also, is it even possible to have a WORLD ELITE MC Chase Sapphire Preferred?

Nope, its a World Mastercard. Mastercard was a little unclear with the branding, as far as I know there is no World Elite Mastercard version of the Sapphire. I originally thought that's what it was and I was wrong.
