Good thing I kept it as Amex then. They refer to this and my Fidelity as Amex Preferred, which I had a thread about. I figured the preferred refereed to either CL or something similar to the Visa Signature, which I don't really get what the hoopla is about. They probably just tell everybody they have a preferred Amex to make them feel better.

I need all of my cards to report the limit, if possible. Otherwise, it does nothing for my utilization ratio. I always make sure not to carry a balance on it. I also transferred my available credit from that card to my Amex card.

And the BofA idiots changed it to a Signature Visa.

I knew I couldn't count on them to actually do something right.

Oh good times.

I am at day 31 of 45 for my upgrade from Citibank Dividend World MasterCard to Dividend World Elite MasterCard (for some reason it takes 45 days). All to get that stupid EMV chip.....two weeks to go...I wonder if the rep even put in the request. I don't want to call because if I find out that she didn't I will go postal.

It is sad that customers have to worry about things not being done correctly.....

So are you going to call BofA or go online to do a chat to request that it gets changed back to an Amex or MasterCard?

I haven't gotten the card yet, but noticed it changed over online. I went to request a replacement card and it said it was a Visa Signature. I already have a Cash Rewards Visa Signature, and now they gave me another one. The lady on the phone told me it would be an Amex, I told her I didn't want another Visa, and look what happens. I am so sick of Visa being forced down my throat from every credit card issuer out there, that's all they want to give you.

I'm not confident that an online rep would grasp what I was trying to tell them, and obviously the people on the phone couldn't do it right. I am sure they will say give us 30 days to figure this out, and then when I contact them again they will say that the card is only available as a Visa, "they should have told you that".

There goes $25,000 off my credit report...........

Well give it a shot anyway. I have found that Chase and Citi's online reps are more helpful than the phone monkeys. Or, if you do call, ask for a supervisor straight away and let them know the situation. At the very least they should be able to change it to an Accelerated Rewards AMEX. What a pain.
