Thoughts on MileagePlus Visa?

Postby Mully85 » Wed Apr 04, 2012 10:10 pm

I just received the United Mileage Plus Visa, I just wanted to get some feedback on how good this card actually is? I would like to start traveling more and thought this would be good to rack up some miles with. Thanks!

So Mully you travel on business. If you travel a lot it's a very good card. If you just travel 1 time a year on vacation it's not a good card.

As you know anything United owned, if you buy beer on the plane, headsets etc you get 2 points per dollar spent.

You don't pay for a first checked luggage while flying on United.

You get concierge service so if your entertaining clients/customers out to dinner, there's a 1-800 number you call they arrange any business airline tickets, hotels if you need help with sporting events.
You also get 2 passes to go into the Club Lounge.

Not sure if there's a foreign transaction fee. You can only redeem your points on United. Annual fee 95.00.
My opinion, if you travel on business a lot it's a great card, executives have this card.

If you only travel a couple of times a year this isn't the card for you.

You should convert it to an Explorer card instead. You get more benefits, such as free checked bag, priority boarding, and free lounge passes.

Not wrong when it comes to airlines, hotels and stores you can only redeem for their card.

So for Delta American Express it would be Delta, Chase Marriott it would be Marriott. United would be United.

You purchased 2 business class tickets on Lufthansa, you did not redeem.
