Discuss the Visa & MasterCard payment networks as well as cards that operate through them.

I called Citi, asked for a lower rate, and they dropped my APR

I have a Citibank card. This past summer I called and asked if they had lower rates. They dropped the rate on my card a ton. I've waited again until this Spring to go back and ask again. Upon asking today, they dropped the APR another full 2% down into the single digits. Its a permanent reduction, not a promotion, takes effect immediately and is good on the previous balance I was carrying.

Many of these issuers have rates available but only provide them if you ask for them. They appear to be operating under the principle that unless you ask you must be OK with what you have.

that is awesome. I have a citi forward card (college student here) which I plan on keeping for awhile. Perhaps they would do that for me too? Even though I dont carry balances it would be nice to have a single digits interest rate!
Cards in my wallet:
-Citi Forward Card for College Students-July 2011
-American Express Platinum Delta Skymiles--July 2013
