Shell Platinum mastercard review?

Postby Cucumber » Mon Sep 29, 2008 12:27 am

Curious who here (if anyone) has the Shell gas credit card? I got... get this..... TWO mailings from them in the same day for this card. Both of them were an envelope and inside was the usual but what made it different was they included a $25 gift card. I don't mean one of those fake ones you get with credit card offers but a normal real gift card like you would get if you went to Shell and bought one.

I got to hand it to them this was good marketing because they said if you call and "Request your new Shell MasterCard" they will activate the gift card for you. I've never seen this done before for a credit card offer.

Not that I'm interested in getting this card though LOL I just thought it was good marketing. ;) Why would I get a card that only gave me rewards at Shell when there are other gas rebate credit cards out there that give 5% at all gas stations? Really there is no point!
Stop talking crap about him!

A $25 gift card to sign up for a lousy rewards card? When there are cards that occasionally $50 and $100 sign-up bonuses why do they think $25 would be enough?
