Good to know. I have had Freedom for a couple of years and the CL is 5K now.
So I am hoping Chase approves me for CSP in near future.

chase def is more of a relationship bank

as long as your record is clean you'll be fine, if there are smidges or crater sized dents you may or may not scoot through

Yeah they are a relationship bank. Keep in mind if you've burned them they don't forget. If they do let you in, good luck getting CLIs on your cards. Once you've burned them, they aren't too likely to grow with you, and for good reason it's hard to argue with them wanting to avoid a repeat, but just saying you are better off to go elsewhere. I speak from personal experience, not a rant against Chase at all here, just words to the wise that you might want to consider TRULY starting over somewhere else if you've burned them.

I don't see why they wouldn't. Seems you have good history with them if you have the freedom as a visa sig.

I know an applicant needs to have an excellent credit score, but is there also an income requisite? I have read some review sites where they mention the Sapphire being designed towards the top 15% earners, not sure if they meant the cards features were designed for the top 15% earners or whether the card in general is only approved for the top 15% earners.

I am thinking about applying for this card by the way, and I currently have a credit score of 737.

I just applied yesterday and got instant approval. I had a Credit Karma score of 712, My Fico, 724 and Experian, 743. Credit Karma predicted my probability of getting approved to be poor. I am most definitely not even close to the 15% top earners with my $24k per year salary and I have a short credit history (2 years). However, I have never missed a payment and did not have a high balance before applying...basically I don't have any negatives. I was approved with $5,400 credit limit AND they mentioned if this is not satisfactory, to call the number behind the card and talk to a representative. I think they are more likely to approve a low earner who pays their bills diligently, than a high earner who does not. If you have not yet applied and don't have any negatives...go ahead as I am sure they will give it to you. If the negative you have is a high balance that you can explain, for instance a 0% interest balance, they will most likely deny you initially and after you call and explain, they will approve you. I read a couple of reviews on Credit Karma stating this. One person actually got a Credit Limit of 24k after they finally approved her after she called following the denial. Actually, you can go to Credit karma and read the reviews if you're still on the fence about it and see who may closely reflect your circumstances and what their fate was after applying. Cheers.

if you already have a Freedom card.. they'll give you the Sapphire Preferred. I have friends that just started building their credit and only had about $2000 limit on their freedom card and still got approved for the CSP with $5000.
