Barclaycard Wyndham changes

Postby CarefulBuilder14 » Sat Oct 08, 2016 1:32 am

The Wyndham cards have changed a bit. The bonuses are down, as is the earn rate for off-category purchases. Automatic status has been added (and, as a result, the renewal points on the AF one may have been increased). The AF one went up from $69 to $75.

The AF card had been on my list for a while, but my interest faded as I got more involved in unconventional IHG points. Holiday Inns are pretty reliable in my experience, and from my research Wyndham has only a few premium hotels (and lots of ones I wouldn't want to stay at). Despite their advertising, they do have some limits on award availability at premium spots. And despite a dozen-ish nights of hotel stays since the USTA promo, I'm still sitting on the points. Although I'll use them before they expire, that's an indication that I don't need more right now.

Is anyone considering getting a Wyndham card? Or keeping/closing an existing one?
Very useful: SchwabPlat, CSP, IHG, Costco (was AA Plat), Freedom, SPG
Somewhat useful: Discover, ED (was EDP), BCE, Hyatt, Arrival
May close or PC: Prestige, BrooksBros

Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech
