Approved Citi Double Cash and Chase Slate!

Postby InCreditWeTrust » Fri Sep 09, 2016 7:30 pm

It's been long awhile since I've applied for new credit cards, but after 2 of my cards expiring (inactive) I needed to get back into the credit game.

I recently got approved for the Citi Double Cash at 5k+ and the Chase Slate at 4k. I think I should see a big bump in the credit score since my credit to debt ratio just got better.

Next I'm thinking of is the Chase Freedom Unlimited or some Travel rewards card.

You've expressed an interest in DC before but not Slate that I can recall. Did you have a big balance to transfer? Or you mostly wanted an easy approval to lower your utilization?

Have a shortlist of possible travel cards?
Wallet: Prestige CSP SchwabPlat Freedom It Hyatt SallieMae AAPlat

Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when

Yeah I decided to get the Chase Slate for a balance transfer. With the 0 balance transfer fees and 0% APR for first year it seemed like a good deal.

Not really, its something I'm still researching. I've read the Chase Sapphire seems to be the gold standard for travel and rewards card. I am not a big traveller, but currently travel a few times a year, and may be traveling more so in the future.

Not sure if you mean CSP or CSR, but CSR definitely offers more for at least the first few years.

That assumes you'd be spending money on travel, anyway, of course. While/shortly after paying off a BT, saving as much as possible is generally advisable.
