Delivery method for Chase Sapphire Reserve?

Postby nitsugua23 » Fri Sep 09, 2016 3:36 am

I just applied for the CSR and got approved immediately with a 10.8K limit and 16.24% APR. my question is, the site said i'll receive my card within the next 5-7 business days. I'm wondering what method did some of you guys take to get them to express ship the card? i've seen multiple people say they've called them but i just did and the rep told me they've ran out of material to make the metal cards so i'll have to wait the 5-7 business days to get the card and even when i get it, it'll probably be plastic until they can make my metal version and ship it to me. I know the obvious answer would be that i should've applied for the card sooner but oh well. Thoughts or advice?

I got mine about a week or so ago and it was shipped UPS. I received a metal one.

Funny thing is that the UPS delivery was just left on my doorstep and there was no verification needed before I could start using it. No phone number to call or login to sign into. I thought both of these things were odd from a security standpoint.

I applied last week Friday and got approved. They shipped out the plastic card via UPS and I got it on Wednesday (most likely due to the holiday). Now waiting for the metal card.

Call Chase and ask for it to be expedited.

Asking for expedited shipping can definitely help. A request is more likely to succeed if you make it the same day or early the next day. After a day or two, the wheels are already in motion for slower shipping.
Love: IHG, Platinum, Sallie Mae, AA Plat, CSP
Like: Discover, ED, BCE, Hyatt, Arrival, Freedom
Might drop: BrooksBros, Prestige (Costco PC?)
Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold
Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when

I asked them to expedite my Ritz because I was going out of the country shortly after and wanted to spend the money I was already going to be spending on that trip on the card. Anyway, they sent me two of the same exact package. One regular and one overnight or two day. (By the time I got to them they were both there).

BoA - BankAmericard Cash Rewards
Chase - Freedom, CSP, RC, Ink Plus

Indeed -

Every time i applied for a card form chase - i called immediately after applying and asked for it o be expedited. The only one that didn't work out was my Marriott card due to it being co-branded.

Unfortunately for me I called the night I got approved and was denied expedited shipping and I also called the next morning to ask again. Both reps gave me the same answer. "Due to the high demand for the card and lack of materials to make it, expedited shipping isn't available." My thing is, if they already know they're gonna be sending me a plastic card anyways for starters, WHY can't that plastic card just be expedited!? It's frustrating but oh well. I guess I should have it by Teusday or Wednesday next week anyways. I work for USPS, in a mail processing facility and I don't want that card floating around in the mail. I know how often we loose packages! Lmao!!!

Update: I applied for my CSR on September 9th. Called and spoke with a Chase manager on Sept 11th and he told me my card hand been made yet. On 9/12/16 I got an email saying that I should be receiving my card soon so I assumed It would take 3-4 more days to come. To my surprise the next morning it was sitting on my doorstep. It got delivered UPS Express. The label said it was overnight express shipped. Unfortunately it was just the envelope with a plastic card. No biggie though.

I applied late Wednesday night with instant approval. I called this morning (Friday) and was told 3 to 5 days. I was surprised as I expected it to be overnighted.

Side note just had a capital one secured card with a $500 limit for 1.5 years. No other credit history with income at 100k. Got approved for this with 21K and Amex Everyday for 10k. I was surprised to get such a high limit on my first REAL cards. I know visa infinite has to be 10k plus. Hope that info helps others when applying.

Wow! That's inspiring. I've spoken to a couple friends lately who have gone big with their first "real" cards and made huge leaps from a secured product to the best of the best.

That has to feel good!
