An AA Platinum CSR told me that my card had been returned undeliverable (when it was just still in the mail). She was clueless, but communicated clearly and sounded American.

The point being...I'd be surprised that Citi would use American CSRs for the cobranded AA Platinum but not their own Premier (in the same AF range, but proprietary).

I think I've only called about my AA card twice, though, so maybe I'd have gotten an obviously foreign or hard-to-understand CSR on further calls.

I have not had to call yet for my Premier. I literally only recently received the Premier. They sent me an email on my Preferred and offered an upgrade to Premier and waived the annual fee for the first year. I decided to go for it since Citibank had been p I ssing me off for not willing to upgrade my Preferred to a World MasterCard despite being 17 years old/perfect credit blah blah. So, with the Premier the card was upgraded to World Elite. My hope is that next year when I downgrade back to Preferred I will get to keep my World Elite; but at the very least I have the 5466 16 account number and will be downgraded to World.

CC Deville wrote:You can find them by going to the very bottom of the homepage once you've logged in where it says "View More Offers." Or by going to "Account Management" "Rewards & Offers" then "Offers For You." I got quite a few good ones last year around Christmas. Today the best one I see is for Big 5 Sporting Goods, Red Robin and Saks Fifth Avenue. They are not nearly as good as BankAmerideals or Amex Offers but I wanted to make sure OP knew about them just in case they were available for his card.

I think these cash back deals work sort of like your grocery store coupon card; it tracks your spending and then offers deals that are very similar to your spending.

Okay, I was looking in the right place - there just wasn't much to find. I only have Hertz on Prestige and nothing on AA Platinum.

They are both 2016 accounts, so I suppose things might pick up near the end of the year. Then again, other cards do year-end promos.
Very useful: SchwabPlat, CSP, IHG, Costco (was AA Plat), Freedom, SPG, Prestige (retention)
Somewhat useful: Discover, ED (was EDP), BCE, Hyatt

Ive had Citi for almost two months now and i have a combination US and foreign based CSRs. All the reps i have come across have been knowledgeable, polite and patient (even the foreign ones). No complaints so far with Citi.

Unless you need a long term BT, there are much better products out there. Yes there's a chance you will get some 5% offers on it, but they are not an official part of the card, will not be consistent, and you may also never get one. So I would not count on it or really consider it in your decision.

The "Easy Deals" program is widely known to be a joke if you do some searching. You do earn "points", but they aren't points that you can directly convert to cash. You to have to bid on things like gift cards and hope you win.

Again, I'd basically forget about any of the "perks" as this is basically a no frills credit card with a long 0% offer. If that suits you, go for it.

CarefulBuilder14, have you checked out the First Tech Federal Credit Union? They have Chip + PIN priority MasterCards with no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee. Pretty easy to join for $8 through the Financial Fitness Association.

This looks a lot more promising than UNFCU. I don't know if you already knew about this but I believe a better option than UNFCU-thinking about going this route myself to have a true Chip + PIN priority card.

It looks like a good option, thanks!

Directly from the Citi DP terms:
APR for Balance Transfers

0% introductory APR for 21 months from date of first transfer when transfers are completed within 4 months from date of account opening.

After that, your APR will be 12.24% to 22.24%, based on your creditworthiness. These APRs will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate.

Act quickly and you'll be within the 4 month window. Of course, it's possible that you may get a better offer elsewhere.

*That's assuming the BT is completed quickly. I'm not sure how long it might take.
