Hi there. I'm new to the forum and have been reading around quite a bit. It's really interesting to hear about other people's credit history since every story is different. Anyway, I'd just like to get your opinions on something since I may have to wait one to two weeks according to the Chase analyst...
In 2006 I had opened a Chase credit card, and long story short, it ended up going into collections along with some other accounts. I was young and dating a girl who had me blinded by love, who was really using me for my money. I have since then broken up with her, met someone new (who is a lot better with money, and ended up marrying her) and my credit went from 496 (around 2010) to a now 745 (TU). I thought maybe it's been long enough that they would forgive me, so I applied for the Chase Sapphire Preferred. I also have recently gotten the Amex Platinum (NPSL), Barclaycard Arrival Plus World Elite ($20k), and an Amex Blue Cash ($20k). I have an old Navy Federal Cash Rewards card ($25k) and a Military Star Card ($6800). After my credit got destroyed, I had to start out with a First Premier Bank Credit Card ($750) and Credit One Bank ($1800)... Well anyway, back to CSP, I got denied so I called the Chase reconsideration line and told them my story. He puts me on hold and comes back on to tell me he's pushing it for approval, since it was a small debt and I've already paid it off. But it has to go thru a second approval since its been shorter than 7 years. He said it would take one to two weeks before they send me my credit card or denial letter. I was just wondering what you guys think my chances are of getting thru the second approval. Income is currently $82k. I had about 3 hard inquiries when I applied (For the Amex Plat, Barclaycard and Honda Financial Services; My wife and I just had our 2nd baby so we bought a new minivan). Interested in hearing your honest thoughts...
