The Luxury Card!!

Postby cashinout » Wed Jan 06, 2016 6:10 pm

Has anyone seen or found information on this? I am guessing it is either a rebranding of the Visa Black Card issued by barclays or its a new type of Luxury card on that level. However if you go the website it says coming soon they are not taking applications but you can sign up so that once they do open for applicants you will be contacted. If anyone has any information on this let me know thanks.

It's a re-launch of Barclaycard's Visa Black. Hopefully they've added substance to it. Some people managed to get the AF waived one year at a time, and at $0 (instead of $495) it became fairly attractive.

If you want a glamorous way to reach your Barclaycard accounts, myluxurycard.com works even for non-Black/Luxury Barclaycard customers.
Love: IHG, Platinum, Sallie Mae, AA Plat, CSP
Like: Discover, ED, BCE, Hyatt, Arrival, Freedom
Might drop: BrooksBros, Prestige (Costco PC?)
Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold
Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when

it's been saying coming soon for like a year now...why barclaycard even messes with this is beyond me.

Google easily turns up stuff. First hit:

5th hit:

7th hit:
http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2 ... -card.aspx

The trend isn't surprising given that it's basically just a rebranding of the Black.

Thanks for the links, so basically this card is no better than my current Citi Executive World Elite AA card (black as well) get the same perks if not better for travel with AA and other discounts. Thanks I guess this card will not be for me..

This card really doesn't seem great for anyone, to be honest. You can find better perks and rewards for a lesser annual fee in most cases.

Just got an invite through email this card has three flavors, Black, Titanium, and Gold so not sure if it is exactly as it was before as they offer three different cards under the luxury brand vs just one now. This is crazy crazy, the 24qt gold plated card has a 900 annual fee, the titanium carbon fiber card has a 195.00 annual fee and the black card has the same as before 495.00 wow look at the annual fee for the gold one jesus....

Comparing them the Titanium card is a basic travel card with a nice name 1pt per dollar.
Black gives you 100 airline credit and global entry refund up to 100
Gold is the same as black but gives you 200 airline credit.

The airline credits are not toward the cost of the ticket. It would cover baggage fees, etc...

Honestly if you want a cool looking card with CSP benefits the Titanium would be the best way to go. 195 AF isn't that bad if you like to pay for the cards design.

If you travel often or want a prestige card just get the Amex Platinum.
