Wow! Got a good laugh out of that. From your link:
Exclusivity, Perceived Status and Card Durability all seem like great reasons why you should upgrade from plastic. Don’t you think? We do.

"Perceived" status. At least they're honest.

I think metal cards are cool, too...but I don't think I've ever even held one and I doubt they really impress that many people. You'd have to hit the perfect intersection of people that pay enough attention to credit cards to know metal cards exist and are supposed to be an elite product BUT don't pay enough attention to know what's out there and how (non)exclusive they really are.

I'd say you're right. If they cost like $3 and you could make them at home, I'd probably have one just for the novelty of it.

The minute they start making pink ones, girls will pay a fortune for them. Kittens and sh*t engraved on them. LOL

I got a PRG compliment a few days ago. A cashier said the card looked really cool. The place wasn't too busy, so I tried to start up a little chat about all the various extras, rewards, and statement credits that came with the card...but the cashier wasn't interested in any of that...just that the card looked really cool.
Keeping indefinitely: IHG, SchwabPlat, CSP, Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE, Hyatt, SPG
May close or PC: Prestige, Arrival, BrooksBros
AA Platinum converting into Costco

Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech

it IS a really cool looking card. People never say anything to me about my cards but I'm usually at a self checkout or online.
