Personally, if I were paying $195 for a card design, I'd much rather get the Amex PRG. Better benefits, better rewards, and a way better looking card.

I mean the Stainless and Carbon Fiber design beats the gold plastic from Amex. My gold Delta card is nice looking but the CSP is by far a nicer card so all of these cards are simple and sweet.

Rewards are horrible though so this won't be in my wallet ever!

I got (probably) the same email yesterday showing the 3 cards. I didn't bother reading the email. I remember getting a pre-approved thing in the mail a couple of years back but it was just for the black card.

Even the revamped version(s) are nothing spectacular compared to what you can get for the same or lesser fee.

cashinout wrote:Just got an invite through email this card has three flavors, Black, Titanium, and Gold so not sure if it is exactly as it was before as they offer three different cards under the luxury brand vs just one now. This is crazy crazy, the 24qt gold plated card has a 900 annual fee, the titanium carbon fiber card has a 195.00 annual fee and the black card has the same as before 495.00 wow look at the annual fee for the gold one jesus....

Comparing them the Titanium card is a basic travel card with a nice name 1pt per dollar.
Black gives you 100 airline credit and global entry refund up to 100
Gold is the same as black but gives you 200 airline credit.

The airline credits are not toward the cost of the ticket. It would cover baggage fees, etc...

Honestly if you want a cool looking card with CSP benefits the Titanium would be the best way to go. 195 AF isn't that bad if you like to pay for the cards design.

If you travel often or want a prestige card just get the Amex Platinum.

Agree I have the CSP and it is sweet love it and the rewards are pretty good for what I use it for. I just don't get that 995.00 Annual fee for the 24k Gold Luxury card they have to be giving some other benefit to justify this that is not listed.

I'm willing to believe they aren't. The card has always been all sizzle and no steak. There are plenty of people that freak out over the chance to have a card made out of metal. A card made out of gold?! It will surely attract the attention of people that seek status first and ask questions about value later.

Given the choice I'd rather have a CSP (especially with the Freedom). Ring is the only BarclayCard I'd consider, and even that doesn't have the greatest benefits beyond the low APR.
Current Cards: Chase Freedom, Discover IT
Future: TBD

So much so that there's a small business that caters to them.
