That is going to suck then. I may opt for a just the regular membership. I am looking to buy a car and refinance my student loans in the next year and cannot afford to take a hit on AAoA. I just hit 2 years. Not like I do not have other options to pay then. I will keep my TE open as long as I can. I doubt I will get another Amex anytime soon.

What do you do with URs? I doubt Citi will be able to offer much more than 2% cash back on warehouse purchases, and getting 2 cpp in value is reasonable for Hyatt and United.

Amex may end up PCing TE people to BCE, anyway.

I pretty much use UR points for Southwest flights. Though I am not sure the next time I will use them.

Looking at my accounts it looks like it did backdate to when my Costco Amex was opened.

Is there a separate closed account listed for the Costco Amex? If not, then it doesn't sound like backdating, just the correct opening date of an account Amex sold to Citi.
