It is, but a puny limit.

You might have to take a hard to get a nice limit on it. They gave me a decent (for them) limit when I got mine of 6.6k. Then I transferred a balance within the first 6 months to get a 15 month 0% promo, and requested a CLI (for which I took a hard pull). Asked for and got 15k. I'd take that pull any day of the week.

Just info that might help you down the road.

Thanks for that. I hear of all Citi cards the DC starts with the lowest limit. I'll wait for the soft pull then go for a hard once i find out what is going on with a mortgage. They gave me $2,400 but by far my best APR of 12.99%. There is talk (on MF) about APR and limit being inversely related, which is why I asked.

Speaking of Citi, I had to call them yesterday for something and was very impressed with the customer service. They have really stepped it up in the past year.

Several years ago when I called I got Indians I could barely understand, and was not really impressed by that.

Most recently when I called it was American reps and they did great. So maybe they have begun to shift that back to the US. Now if Amex would do the same - it's not like they can't afford to.

Amex is terrible in that regard. Any time I call, I can barely understand the reps.

I think I've only called the PRG line, so I can't speak to the CSRs for EDP and BCE.

I can understand them, and they can understand me. They just don't want to give me extra rewards!

I think the only time I've gotten *an obviously foreign* CSR was when I called Chase Freedom on a weekend.
