Citi 2x Cash Limit issues

Postby GoCreditGo! » Fri May 01, 2015 6:24 pm

I have a paltry 1500 limit on the card. I'm restructuring my spending methods and I want the 2% cash back on daily purchases on it, but I was denied for a limit increase with a letter to follow. Anything worth trying to get it? Will maxing it and paying it off right away increase my chances for an increase?

A cli is going to have more to do with your credit profile than how you use the card. No calculated spending is going to make you more attractive for a cli. If you took the HP when asking, you should call and ask for a recon. If nothing else the CSR will tell you what the letter is going to say so you can report back here.

It's worth a try.

I got mine late last year or early this year and got 6.6k to start. Transferred a balance, and just recently requested a CLI and got it, with a hard pull (didn't mind that).

Give it some time and use and it should go up.

Nope though I can understand why one might get that impression from reading myFICO. Usage doesn't really determine whether or not you qualify for a CLI. Your credit does.

That letter is what you need to use as starting point for what to work on.
