Capital One Secured MC not showing on credit report - Any experience with it?

Postby Crashburn » Mon Apr 13, 2015 3:02 pm

I was wondering whether any has experience with this:

I applied and got a Capital One secured mastercard 2 months ago (need to build credit with no credit history as we only moved to the US a few months ago). I paid the deposit and once I got my first statement, I paid it off fully. I then waited for the due date to pass to see the card show up on my credit report which it didn't. 8 weeks or so have past since I got the card and there is nothing on my credit report.

The hard check Capital One run is there but no line of credit.

Today I contacted Capital One and they confirmed that everything was right on their end and that the credit bureaus (all 3) must not be reporting what they are receiving from Capital One and that they can dispute it for me.

Has this every happened to anyone? That the bank sends the info and the bureaus chose (for whatever reason) not to show it on the report? and if yes, any advise?

It seems a little fishy to me...

It's been a LONG time since I've had Cap One (thank God!) but if I recall correctly they did take like 3 months to report. So just give it some time they do report and it should show soon. The open date will appear when it does so it will show the history with the card.

Mine took a few months to report as well. Continue to use it and pay it off.

Thanks for the feedback. I wonder why they don't just say that it can take 2-3 months to report. I'll check again in May then :)
