You have a good chance for the store card provided you do not have a ton of EQ inquiries. Apply in store for the best results.

They pulled Experian for me. I had several inquiries in the last six months and they started me off at 2.5k. Check Credit Pulls Database and your FICOs just to be sure. With that said, seems like you're in good shape for it.

Are you trying to pick up cards in general? Or you shop there a lot and would use the perks like semi-free alterations and early access to the annual sale?

You need to spend several thousand dollars a year there to get into the fancy rewards. Without that, the rewards are nothing special.

The last time I bought something at Nordstrom, I used the Chase portal with my Q4 Freedom. It would be hard to beat 10.55% in URs - even with a Personal Triple Points Day

No, I am interested in this particular credit card. They recommend me this card because of the rewards and the early access or pre-sales. Actually, I spend more than one thousand per year. Do you have this Nordstrom credit card?

I don't have it, but it's not the worst store card there is. If you need a lot of alterations, maybe it's worth it. The rewards on the card outside of special events are definitely only mediocre. If you do a lot of shopping during their sales, it could be good. $1k is a bit on the border as to whether I'd consider it useful. I spend maybe $300 a year there and wouldn't bother - especially when Chase gives me really great rewards for the online purchases.

The only clothing store card I have is from Brooks Bros, and I only use it when I'm able to save 20%+ through special offers linked to the card. I just use a Chase card, otherwise.

There's also the question of how much shopping you do online vs. in a brick-and-mortar store. I probably get a larger share of my clothing online than you. Some of the hoops I jump through are limited to online transactions.

I've heard a lot about the Visa Signature version of the card and how you can possibly upgrade to it after six months if you get enough of a CLI on it. They like to see usage and good payment history on it for increases and I think it's one of the better store cards out there that you could possibly get IMO.

I also got one of my lower APRs surprisingly with this card. A little bit lower than what I have currently with my Discover It card (18.90 as opposed to 18.99, though it's not a huge difference by any means). Good luck if you do decide to apply for it. They pull EX usually. My last purchase at Nordstrom was honestly in store. I don't usually do much online shopping when comes to clothes or shoes at all.

I'd wait until you have 11-12 months of history if you want to get in with Chase BTW.
