But was Hawaiian Airlines offering you the room - on a standalone basis - for less than Marriott was? Or you could only get the room while also booking a flight?
Love: IHG, Platinum, Sallie Mae, AA Plat, CSP
Like: Discover, ED, BCE, Hyatt, Arrival, Freedom
Might drop: BrooksBros, Prestige (Costco PC?)
Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold
Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when

We want to go from CA to Hawaii next month, staying with a friend.

Missed the lowest price we saw--$457 each RT and 20% off if using UR points--and the price went up to $700 each. Then today it dropped to $527. Not enough points. Husband said "take it," points for one, buy the other.

We don't travel constantly to rack up tens of thousands of points, so we want to use them to at least reduce costs. I checked our UnitedMiles--definitely not enough there, and needed ~25,000 miles each way, per person. That wasn't going to work, even transferring UR. But we checked, you know?
