Just got an auto CLI on my Barclaycard Arrival on my 6-month statement

Postby ScoreOnTheRise » Mon Feb 16, 2015 5:03 pm

I got a Barclaycard Arrival back in August with a 3K CL. I travel pretty regularly for work, and tended to use this card as much as I could for my reimbursable travel expenses.

Today I hit the 6-month mark with this card with my statement cut today I noticed that I got a 1.5K CLI bringing my CL to 4.5K. I was hoping for more, but I'm pretty happy with this.

Can anyone with years of experience with Barclaycard tell me if auto CLI's are pretty common? How frequent?

American Express BCE [$20K]
Discover it [$18.5K]
Barclaycard Arrival World MC [$6K]

Citi Best Buy Visa [$2K]

I would like to know the same. I have the Rewards card sitting at 5 months. Will see what happens in March, but all I want is to PC to Arrival+. Will make a phone call in March after the 6 months and see what they say. Nothing they really offer is that special and I don't see many people talking about great CLI's with them which is depressing.

Add me to the curious crowd. I'm at 4 months with my US Airways MC, and I also got 3k initially. I have the same situation with my Buy Power Card if anyone in the forum knows about CLI with them.

I hope you'll report back in two months and let us know. The US Airways card is my first foray into Barclays so I'm curious to see what, if anything, they do at six months.

My $4.5k SM is nearly at 6 months. I used it regularly for gas and groceries from August through December, but only lightly for Amazon recently. I don't know if I'll get an auto-CLI. I've averaged about 4.5% cash back over the card's lifetime, so they're losing money on me.

Amex didn't give me a 6-month BCE auto-CLI. I've not asked for a CLI - even the 3x - since I use it so rarely.
Keeping indefinitely: IHG, SchwabPlat, CSP, Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE, Hyatt
May close or PC: Prestige, Arrival, BrooksBros
AA Platinum converting into Costco

Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech
Letting new accounts cool off since May

Your reason for Amex is the same reason I doubt I'll get an auto on my Barclays in six months. I doubt I'll use it much. As it is right now I barely use my Citi AA card. Mostly just for AA purchases for the double miles. On the other hand, I use my EDP for almost everything. I tend to use my CSP for dining, and sometimes for travel type things like cabs that I don't use my AA card for. But otherwise the EDP is my go to. Since Barclays gave me an initial $12.5k CL I'm guessing my minimal usage won't warrant an auto CLI.

I hardly use my Barclay card anymore but I did get an early $500 CLI just by calling 24/7 recon and seeing if I was eligible for one. It's almost approaching six months now.

I'm curious - does Amex (or any other issuer) waive FTFs for the active duty military the way they waive AFs?

I would need to refer to the letter they sent me, but I don't believe that was one of the waived fees. However, since they waive the annual fee it's easy enough to just get a platinum which has that feature built in. I kind of wish it were though, so I could use my EDP overseas to count towards my 30 transactions a month lol.

That being said, I find it very hard to complain.

This is what they waive. Doesn't look like FTF is included. However, like I said, you're not going to catch me complaining. I think they are being overly generous as it is.
