There's always reconsider.
The Chase recon line is: 1-888-245-0625
There you can 'chat' up a credit analyst who will reconsider your case. There you can tell them why you would like the card, why it would be a benefit to their company to place a card in your hands. Most importantly of all, emphasize how you would like to build a relationship with their bank.
Cards:
1FBUSA: 5.75k
Discover IT (for students): 4.6k
Chase Freedom (signature): 5k
Target REDcard: 1.5k
AmEx BlueCash Everyday: 5.5k

FICOs:
TU - 785 (December 2015)

It's never just about score. You can recon as suggested above. If that doesn't work out then use the reason(s) for denial as a starting point on what you need to work on.

I don't think all hope is lost for the Chase Marriott. I've never been able to get cards like the Freedom or Amazon Chase Visa but Chase is happily willing to let me have cobranded cards, especially ones with AFs which have been my highest limits with them too. I think for some of their cards, they rely more on the internal score rather than relying solely on your credit report to make a decision. I definitely think you should recon that Freedom though and see if you can still get it. You might have to call recon a couple of times to get in touch with someone who can really get things going and someone who can understand your concerns the most.

That card is also on the list of what I want to get next year. How long have you had your current cards. Chase likes to see at least a year of credit history typically.
Macy's TLs (21k), Lowes (17k), CSP (10k), Sam's Club (10k), Nordstrom (5k), AARP (4.2k), Freedom (3k), Discover (1.5k), Quicksilver (2k), BoA (3k), Barclaycard Arrival (2.5k), Amazon Store (6k), Paypal (4.9k), Sam's Club MC (3.6k), Walmart MC (1.2k)

After reading other threads, I guess it really not about the score, with a 709 I would assume you would get. Like one thread mention below, you I guess you should dig into your credit report and or call the 888.
