I don't want to burst your bubble, because I want to congratulate you on the approval.

However the TYP is a pretty (IMO) useless card. You will not get your full "2x" back when you redeem, and in fact it is usually far less than that so the "bonus categories" are really marketing. It is basically a 1% card maybe slightly more.

You are better off with a QS or Double Cash. You will earn rewards that are not "points" and the value is actually 1.5% and 2% respectively, as opposed to Thank You Preferred "2x" points which does not equate 2% cash back.

Since you already have it maybe you can PC to Double Cash in a year.

I do agree with your thoughts on the card. I have it, but yes, the points are pretty useless. I found that out a little while ago. I have been meaning to try and PC it, just have not had time.

Which are the better transfer partners?

I'm entertaining the possibility of getting a Prestige.*

*Or an Amex Platinum or Ritz-Carlton...I really need to research the lounge situation at the airports I tend to use...
Warranties and sketchy merchants: Schwab Platinum
Price rewind: Costco
Travel insurance: Prestige, CSP
Perks: IHG, Hyatt
Rewards/Offers: Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE
Taxes/Misc: SPG

Limited value, might close: Arrival

Might add: First Tech, proper business card
