I called to see if my AT&T Universal Card was eligible for PC to Double Cash and I couldn't believe it but it was. I didn't think it would be because I am a Charter Member (meaning I had the AT&T card before they changed it) and because my rate is based on LIBOR instead of Prime Rate.

So yeah, let them change your Forward to Thank You Preferred and then after a month or so see if you can PC it to Double Cash.

That doesn't seem like a bad option. It's just that I thought that was just a rumor and didn't know if anyone had confirmed they were doing that or not. I wonder when the conversions to the TYP card would take place.

Popamode72,

Do you have any student cards? I have student versions of:

Discover it
Citi Forward (old 5x rules)
Citi Dividend

All were generous with the credit lines -- Citi in particular. I even got a $1400 CLI a few months ago for the Forward.

Btw, Citi Forward has other perks like cell phone protection. If you pay your cell phone bill with the Forward, replacing your phone is covered for theft or loss.

I think Citi is just being cautious with you as your credit is just 1 year old.

You'll have to be patient for the best credit card land has to offer. :D

AMEX Blue Cash Everyday 5500

I have never heard about they would completely convert Forward to anything else actually. In this July I was even able to ask for a replacement Forward card with a chip.
Wondering if there are still any active mtvU cards now. I have heard this card was converted to Forward.

Oh yeah, still stuck at 1k with them with a crappy APR of 22.24% right now. Chase, Discover, and Amex are going to get the majority of my swipes now and I'll forget the Forward card is even in my wallet. Citi did help me build my credit but don't seem to care about growing with me as my profile improves. Oh well. Their loss and rant over. I've also put so much of my spending onto this card and having good payment history on it but not even that seems to make a difference.

I would do the same. Citi usually denies all my requests but surprisingly agreed to convert my Diamond Preferred to DoubleCash.

That's very understandable. My current college cards are that one, the Wells Fargo Cash Back card, and the student version of the Discover It card. My Quicksilver started out as a Journey card and I was able to upgrade it because I had an offer on file to do so.

Interesting. My statement generated early tonight and I see that my new purchase APR is actually 19.24%. That's basically what I have on my Gold Delta Skymiles card right now.

I like how in the that APR decrease, they basically lowered it by exactly 4% from what I had before with the .25% APR reduction I was already getting.

My citi card is also sitting in my sock drawer too. I recently called for a CLI as well as a reconsideration of my APR. They would give me a 5k limit, but not lower my APR. I told them straight up, that I will not be using the card until they lowered my rate. They told me that I could call back in 6 months and they could possibly reconsider it. If not...oh well lol.
