Applying for CSP onsite - $2000???

Postby sicasun » Mon Sep 08, 2014 2:13 am

I'm thinking of closing my regular sapphire and applying for a CSP after my credit report next updates, because I do a fair amount of traveling and eating out in a year. I was thinking of going onsite to talk it out with a rep because I have to close my AU card that I have under my mom and see how that works, but that got me wondering about something I've been hearing around.

Is it true that Chase still offers the bonus 40,000 points for only $2000 spendings in 3 months if you apply onsite? I thought it was an old and expired offer, but I read on CreditKarma I think, recently, that someone got that offer after applying onsite.

Can anyone confirm this? Or is this a YMMV kind of thing?

Thank you!

I just Googled CSP and clicked on the sponsored link to Chase's site. It offers 40k points after spending $3,000 (not $2,000) in the first 3 months. Also, offered another 5k points if you add an AU and that user makes any purchase in the first 3 months.
AmEx - Platinum (NPSL) , Blue Cash Preferred ($19,000), Gold Delta Skymiles ($8,500)
Chase - Sapphire Preferred ($14,000), Disney ($11,500), Amazon.com ($9,000), Freedom ($8,000)
CapOne - QuickSilver ($7,250) / Platinum Rewards ($7,250)

Pretty straightforward. The original account holder has to request removal of the AU.

Well, that's the online offer. Offers in the branch (and via mail solicitation) can vary, and being in branch offers, they won't be on the website. Call the branch and ask. They're the only ones who know what's currently on offer!

I suppose that is the easiest way to find out :) I plan to go some time this month hopefully, so I will post my experience after.

True. Plus, I've seen variations in online offers depending on where you link from (not necessarily Chase, but various providers). Would be interesting to see what the branch says.

I'll be sure to report my experience after the deed is done :) I'm sure quite a few people come here for CSP info.
