Thanks Member! Much appreciated. I always have this fear at the back of my mind that these lenders could pull the kinds of stuff Barclays does when they see people get new accounts in a short period of time even though I've also heard that it doesn't affect everyone who gets cards with them and I also fear having too much available credit and getting denied for stuff for that reason in the future. I mean I've had plenty of accounts already as well as inquiries and not one of my cards has been closed because of AA or anything like that so I'm not expecting anything that drastic to happen. Also as you've noticed, the minute I get better cards, I close the ones that I don't need anymore or ones that have served their purpose pretty much so that doesn't happen.

There was this one person over at MyFico that said that one of his friends got instantly approved for the Freedom but after she got the card and tried activating it, they had already closed it. Thankfully my app went through all that verification stuff and the analysts clearly looked at my CR so there shouldn't be a problem there in the long run.

I dreaded getting that application needs further review message until the next day, I called Chase for myself and asked them about the status of my application and they said it was pending which has never happened to me before when trying them.

Normally I'd always gotten instantly declined on the spot and then I called them not too long ago in the afternoon and they also told me the app is still pending. Really told them the reasoning as to why I wanted the card and why I wanted to have more of a relationship with Chase and all that stuff and it seemed like the rep on the phone was very nice and understanding of where I was coming from and took some notes of our conversation. Only thing is that he wasn't directly working on the application so there wasn't anything he could do to just be able to make a decision on the app directly himself but I think he might have contact with the team. Not quite sure.

Anyway, I'm still not expecting anything mind blowing or surprising but I saw that a bunch of people on myFico had gotten approved for Chase cards today and yesterday and thought to myself might as well try and see what happens before any of the two Amex cards I got get reported to the credit bureaus and if it doesn't go as planned, oh well and that I can always try again later on. If it goes in the other direction, I can definitely go ahead and close at least two more cards (particularly the Chevron and Wells Fargo ones). I also wanna know if Chase usually sends out an email if they approved someone for a card or not. Will update this post with the outcome. Called the automated system as of now to double check and it still says the app is under review.

When i applied for the CSP and the freedom around 2 weeks apart they sent me confirmation email of being approved. and after summiting the app (around a min later) it also said congrats you've been approved.... good luck with your approval! which one did you apply for?

The Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards Card and it's my first Visa Signature card. That's cool you were able to get the Freedom two weeks later. I really didn't think that was possible to do so quickly cause I thought I would need to wait a couple of months and then do that like how I waited two months and then got my other Amex cards.
