CLI on Barclaycard Arrival

Postby DeeJay8385 » Tue Aug 12, 2014 9:02 pm

I just came back from a 8 day cruise from the Caribbean with Carnival cruise lines. Before the cruise, I set up my travel planner notifications so my card wouldn't be affected for making purchases outside of the U.S. and I earn double points on travel, food, cruise ship purchases, and I took advantage of that opportunity to use my Barclaycard. I've had this card for 6 months and my credit limit was $2,500. I spent $700 during my cruise and used my card specifically for those benefits. Today, I wanted to see the damage done to my account(lol) so I logged onto my Barclaycard app and was THRILLED to see my new credit limit is $6,500. WAY TO GO BARCLAYCARD  . Before we left, my 6 months was 7/26/14 and I tried to get CLI but the website informed me it would be a hard pull, so I didn't do it.

I'm still shocked at my new limit. Now my Barclaycard is my highest limit card out of my other 4 CC. Thought I'd share my excitement with everyone, good evening :D

Congrats on the increase!

So....not to hijack your thread...but I have a question about Arrival +...do websites like hotels.com and priceline.com count towards travel expenses?

I'm pretty sure it does. When I booked my airlines tickets to New Orleans, I had used Expedia and didn't have any issues. I've earn double points and when I had checked my statement, the merchant category said Travel Agencies. With that being said, you should be fine if you book your tickets that way. Hope this was helpful

Thank you, yes very helpful. It makes sense that a travel Merchant Category Code should work. I think I might have to apply for this card; the bonus points alone make it worth it plus the 10% bonus when points are cashed out.
