Yeah, Citi is pretty bad according to Socrata.

To get the Synchrony auto-CLIs, do you have to let an end-of-statement balance report? Or you can pay before the statement is cut and still get the good treatment?

It would be a bit odd if Synchrony ended up auto-CLI-ing me to a limit higher than Chase has given me after a HP.
Love: IHG, Platinum, Sallie Mae, AA Plat, CSP
Like: Discover, ED, BCE, Hyatt, Arrival, Freedom
Might drop: BrooksBros, Prestige (Costco PC?)
Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold
Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when

I remember getting my first auto CLI from Synchrony just three months into having my Amazon and Paypal accounts from them and my second CLI I got I requested myself online (Amazon) and on the phone (Paypal) about 4 months after my last ones. The starting limits on those were $600 and $800 I believe and it's a TU SP too. I think for the best results though, you should let four statements generate and also you can even have a negative balance and that will work as well and PIF. If you try requesting a CLI too early, you'll get denied for a reason like "not enough experience at your current credit level" to paraphrase.

If you don't see any auto CLI, you can either use the CLI button every four months, their chat service (which tons of people over at MyFico have been talking about as a way if you don't have success with the first option), and apparently Credit Solutions you can basically call at any time. People I've seen have had lots of success with the latter option though I've never really been able to get a CLI from Credit Solutions myself. I think the main thing that makes Credit Solutions and the chat different from just using the CLI button is that you can actually request a specific amount and even if you request something pretty high, there's a chance that they might counteroffer.

Also, I believe that Vattene has a few cards from Synchrony and has had a lot of success getting CLIs from them as well.

My apologies for the late response (lately I haven't had the time to be on here as much as I would otherwise like).

I have only gotten a Synch CLI on one card - Walmart - and it was at my request. I had the account for 1.5 years with little to no use in the more recent months. They gave me a $1,000 CLI from the button online. So, I have just had one success, but I think they were generous as I honestly didn't need an increase.

I did always PIF but never came anywhere close to the limit. I just wanted to try for an increase since I had the account so long and never asked before. I was interested in an increase solely for the scoring benefits and wasn't willing to take a HP for the chance of getting it. I tried to use chat to make sure the request wouldn't require a HP, but the customer service was atrocious...as though they copied from their script, Google translated it into English, pasted, and hit "reply." After that I just called on the phone to ask (I actually called twice to make sure I got the same answer), and that service was MUCH better. I was very pleased with both interactions.

I have been meaning to request an increase on my Banana Republic card. I started out with the same approach and got a similarly incomprehensible response from chat. I haven't had a chance to call in yet.

I just described every customer service interaction I have had with any Synch product. I am pleased with Synchrony overall, partly because I know they aren't meant to offer prime cards and they don't try to position themelves that way. Unless they were to come out with a product with unbeatable rewards, I am not interested in Capital One at all, particularly because my credit now lets me easily avoid them. Synchrony, on the other hand, has been great - at least for my needs.

I have Discover and they are way better than Capital One I started with them with a 2.5k limit and every three months it increases 600-750 without me even asking , my capital one which was not a low budget card could never get a increase and the reps all tell you to go online and select increase then it says the account is not set up for online request. you call back tell them that they suggest you cxl the current and apply for the venture rewards i did that and got an even lower limit than the card was trying to get the increase on so yeah i will complain about capital one each case is different i can say that chase is the best as of this month all of my 4 cards with them are all over 10k now and the oldest account is 2years and i didn't have to ask for one increase they do it automatically capital one never did yet i can probably find folks on here that say chase sucks i can't tell them not to hate because my experience was good because banks no matter what have always done some folks wrong and some good depending on what methods they use for giving you something. I finally got a CLI with Discover but it was just a small HP 500 increase. Capone increased my limit by twice of that for the Credit Steps program. They are just really conservative with me and I much prefer Amex when it comes to these matters. Maybe with more spending on the Discover I might trigger some kind of auto CLI but really, I've accepted that Chase and Amex are just much more generous with me.

Maybe in the long term Discover can prove me wrong.

Calling EO would have fixed this.

I made the call for the Banana Republic Visa just to be sure it would only require a SP. After getting that confirmed, I made the request online and got a $2,500 increase.
