Chase recon and too much credit, ritz carlton

Postby amex1722 » Mon Jul 14, 2014 8:20 pm

Hi. I have recently established credit and have applied to 5,6 chase cards in last year. 4 in last 3 months i would say. My scores have gone up got a usaa amex 5000$, delta amex and then prg. So applied for regular sapphire, denied. I did recon and that was a no go.So a couple weeks later, Figured what the hell, if theyre getting there qouta and an annual fee of 395$. Then i have a shot a ritz carlton. I went through INSTANT APPROVAL 5,000$.
A day later applied for united explorer. Called and recon'd that, twice actually. And both said I know we granted you 5000$ on the ritz, and even after a manual review they can not grant me any more credit under "condtions". Can you tell me exactly what there issue is. How long should i wait cause i want marriot premier and United card. Thanks. Scores are late 690's or 700, MANY inquries.

Here's your answer. Wait until you have higher scores and fewer inquiries.

You've hit your internal limit. There isn't a fixed timeframe. You need to wait until their concerns are addressed.

This. They have a max internal limit they will give you across all lines. You might be able to get it IF you are willing to move limit from one of your other many cards with them - that would be up to them, but as they said they will not grant you any additional credit right now. Unless the CEO is a close friend/relative, or you can convince them to move limit from another card to this one, you might as well forget it and move on for the time being. Life will go on.

Ok right. For the time being I'll lay off the apps. But I hope maybe in 3 months or so I can get 1 more card. I know everybody gets at least 2, especially with a visa sig approval.

That's exactly right, no one worth anything settles for just one, so be sure to get AT LEAST 2. If I were you, I'd insist on way more though, you look like a pushover otherwise and then they roll you. Don't cave in!
