Does anyone else here get harassed by Scamica?

Postby MemberSince99 » Tue May 13, 2014 7:32 pm

Scamica (Amica) simply will not stop the harassment. They send me crap in my mailbox continually and monitor my credit like they are one of my lenders. (I see the constant soft pulls which is an annoyance - we should be able to control who peeks at that).

I've honestly had bill collectors that did not harass me as much as these jagoffs do. I would not buy from them if they were the last one standing. If they are that desperate they must blow donkeys. I find them annoying. As in creepy stalker annoying.

I've wondered about that as well. What's to stop someone setting themselves up as a "creditor" and soft-pulling people just to get personal information?

As for insurance companies... I have my way of dealing with the periodic onslaught of auto insurance harassment. I call them up, make them go through most of the entire process of getting me a quote and then I drop the bomb: "Just so you know, if I'm driving, I'm drinking. Always!" They usually end the call really quick and within a week I stop getting e-mails/snail mail from them.
In my Wallet:
  • Amex PRG NPSL[3-14, bd 91]
  • Sallie Mae MC $8000[1-14]
  • Chase Freedom $4700[1-14]
  • Discover It $2750[8-13]
  • BoA UCF Alumni Cash Rewards $5000 [3-15]
Sometimes in my Wallet:
  • GM BuyPower WEMC $5000[9-14]
  • Wells Fargo Propel 365 Amex $7000[4-14]
  • Barclaycard Arrival WEMC $7000[3-14]
  • BoA Better Balance $3000[2-15]
In my sockdrawer: Amex BCE $1000[10-13, bd 91], OCCU Duck $10000 [11-13], The Sportsman's Guide Visa $8000[8-14], Chase Slate $4000 [9-14]Delta Gold Amex $2000 [2-15 bd 91], Diners Club MC $20000 [10-14] Commerce Bank Visa $2000 [3-15] Citi Double Cash $1000 [3-15]
Total CL: $90450

That's a good point. Say someone does that, steals your info that way, that destroys your credit, and good bye new cards, and most likely your current credit card lenders will AA you, cutting your limits or closing you out entirely. Good bye shot at a mortgage, and in fact good bye to being able to even rent. And as far as getting a new job, again most check your credit these days (though what that has to do with most jobs is beyond me) so kiss being employed good bye as well. I've had job offers rescinded years ago due to bad credit. Fortunately not all of them check that but it's becoming more and more common.

Then you'll get the vultures harassing you to "pay your bills you deadbeat" and suing you etc. Good luck clearing your name. And from what I've seen of this, the vultures will sell the bill you had nothing to do with among each other so if you manage to convince one of them that you had nothing to do with this, the next one will pop up and start the harassment all over. Fun times, and you didn't do a thing wrong.

I like your idea on how to deal with them that's great! If anyone pinned you down on that you could always say later well of course you meant coffee what did they think you meant....oh I see.... :)
