You should have. You know...to set a proper example for his children.

Trying to chase down the guy in a huge crowd while cradling my throbbing arm didn't seem possible at the time. But, you're right, of course. "Someone is doing something I don't like...I'm going to hurt them 'for the children!'"

Make no mistake, he caused me bodily harm intentionally and not in self-defense, and that's assault. He even admitted as much in front of at least 50 people. I will say that this was a first. Sure, I've had other people yell at me for jaywalking when they followed me across the street and really didn't have time to make it, or their kid started to follow me because they can't be bothered to hold their hand or teach them not to follow strangers, but tripping me and then taunting me is a new low.

It seems to get worse every year. Right before that, someone walking near me got overly upset because a FRISBEE from a nearby game floated into their walking path and "that could have tripped me!" During times like these, I begin to believe that 90% of Americans should just never leave their house...they're clearly not fit for civil society.

NO COMMON SENSE! hahah those are the type of people you cant reason with..

I'm putting on my bitchface every time I leave my office (right on the Mall), and I'm not going to apologize for it until these people learn to behave. On Sunday, I had to cross the Mall on foot to get to the Metro, and this major asshole ACTUALLY TRIPPED ME as I started to cross the street. Why? Because "jaywalking sets a bad example for my kids and you deserved that." He actually said that to me as I was lying in the STREET writhing in pain because I came down on my bad shoulder (I did look, and traffic was clear...I may jaywalk, but I don't have a death wish). F all these people.

I woulda turned around and cracked him in the face. "hurting people intentionally sets a bad example for your kids too"
