MyFico vs here...

Postby DaisyMaisy » Wed Mar 26, 2014 12:18 pm

Is it me or does the MyFico site seem a bit "clique-y" .

I try to go on there to get info and I have to wade through bs after bs to get an answer.

It's like if you are on there for YEARS or a friend of their little group they they have no time to answer your questions....

It really doesn't matter if they answer your questions or not - you know what they will say before you even ask.

Example - should I close this card. (No). What should I do (Garden) What are my approval odds for XXX (Don't app, Garden). Etc. Once you've seen the pattern, you can answer in advance.

And besides I would guess 50% of the posts on there are "Congrats +1".

Yes I agree. I just had a question about balance transfers and had to watch two lonely ppl keyboard flirt before I could get an answer that really didn't help.....

The websites are really for 2 different cults. MyFico is for people who are obsessed with their credit score, and this site is for people who are obsessed with collecting credit cards and getting the most cash back or rewards points.

Except when people ask for advice here we will ask them what they want to get out of their credit cards and not just tell them what to do. If someone comes on here and says they have had a bad time with credit most people will tell them that they need to work on building their credit back up. I do not see it as a cult that always pushes getting more credit cards. If anything that is also myFICO as a lot of them have every credit card they can get including store cards.
Discover IT - $5,700
Chase Freedom - $5,700
Costco Citi - $13,000
Sallie Mae - $4,000
Chase Sapphire Preferred - $6,000
Chase Sapphire Reserve - $19,500
Citi Double Cash - $6,500
Amex BCE - $13,000

FICOs: Discover (777), SallieMae (764), Amex (767), Citi (772)
FAKOs: CK- TU (760), EQ (760)
