Member- I've seen both movies lol, it's kind of how I expect it to be.

Dark Guy- I'll look into the AF as well.

Jlam- I've heard of Punahou. I have my heart set into going towards LE as a future career, but I want to work for the state. With the classes being the way they are right now, It'll take me longer to graduate or even transfer. I'm actually and will be turning 21 in May. Beyond that, everything else is undecided for me.

Dickey-One of the rates I'm hoping the navy has open when I enlist is OS. What exactly does an OS do? I know that they are on a ship much of the time but beyond that, I'm not sure what else you guys do. How do you like the CG? Is boot camp and schooling afterwards difficult?

OS in the Coast Guard and OS in the Navy are pretty different. For us only about 20% is at sea. On land we mainly do search and rescue. We do other things such as security and a little intel.

I love the Coast Guard. Ive been in almost 7 years and dont regret anything. Boot camp is 8 weeks and in Cape May, NJ and wasnt too bad. They say Coast Guard is the 2nd hardest behind the Marines. Lots of learning. As for "A" school which is where you learn your job. It was pretty easy. OS "A" school is around 4-5 months long and is in Petaluma, CA

Dickey-Thank you, I'll look into CG as well and talk to some of my friends that are currently serving in there. Appreciate the info very much.
