I was just watching TV and saw a commercial for the CSP and the fine print stated $0 for the first year and $95 after that.

I definitely see what you mean by these suspicious "one post ghosts" backing up the claims. What I'm having trouble seeing, however, is the lobbied bias in the reviews. While I'm not intimately familiar with the cards being reviewed, the pros and cons seem to be laid out fairly straight-forwardly. Where do you see the reviewer glossing over details or glorifying benefits?

I'm not challenging, mind you. Just hungry to get to the bottom of this, since (to me) you're one of the sharpest contributors here, and to see you blow a valve like this is cause for deeper examination into the truth.

Hah..you haven't seen me blow a valve yet. Also, I'm less sharp than I may appear via posts on an internet forum. It's easy to look smart when you can edit.

The combination of the two threads in question prompted this thread. I think the AAdvantage thread is more egregious. When you post a link that you tell people is updated with the best available offer and that link sends the reader to a 30k bonus that pays a referral credit instead of a 50k bonus that doesn't, that's just dishonest.

So basically you have no problem with the actual content of the review. You just have a problem with the part that they are making their money from since it is made out to be the best deal even though it may or may not be. I have to agree with you.
Discover IT - $5,700
Chase Freedom - $5,700
Costco Citi - $13,000
Sallie Mae - $4,000
Chase Sapphire Preferred - $6,000
Chase Sapphire Reserve - $19,500
Citi Double Cash - $6,500
Amex BCE - $13,000

FICOs: Discover (777), SallieMae (764), Amex (767), Citi (772)
FAKOs: CK- TU (760), EQ (760)
