Turbo Tax vs. H&R etc....

Postby Dylan1982 » Sun Jan 26, 2014 12:39 pm

So I was thinking that I want to do my taxes this year on my own. I just want to get the max refund possible.

So which route should I take?

Rogers & Hollands - $3,300 (3/2006)
Target REDcard - $3,000 (11/2014)
BestBuy - $1,600 (9/2003)
Discount Tires - $1,000 (2/2004)
Kohl's - $300 (4/2012)

Either one should do the job. I personally use H&R but Turbo Tax seems to be preferred and I'm sure either one can do what you need.

I have been using TurboTax for 4 years now. They seem pretty good. The Federal Taxes is free but they will charge for filing State taxes. The cost is somewhere around 29.99 (at least that what it was last year). Talked with few of my colleagues and heard that H&R charges more than TurboTax does for the same service and refund. I will be using TurboTax this year as well. The online website is very easy to use as well. Just stating what my experience was.
BofA Cash Rewards | CapitalOne QuickSilver | Discover More
Gold Delta AMEX | Citi DoubleCash | Citi Simplicity
Chase Freedom | Kohls Charge Card

I find Turbo Tax's layout easier to use.
AMEX BCE ($20,000), Citi Forward ($6,800), Discover IT ($5,250), BoA Travel Rewards ($1,800)

Google coupon codes, sometimes you'd be surprised. I do this for TaxSlayer and usually can file my state return for free.

Have used H&R Block At Home last 2 years and again this year. Chase has promo in UR store until 1/31 (I think). I also get bigger discount for using each year. $3 off, which isn't much but hey it's more than last year!
Chase Freedom: $800
Chase Slate: $500
Discover It: $2000
Sears: $2000
US Bank: $500
AMEX BCE: $2000

TurboTax program helped me to complete my return, with the use of auto check system and ability to add deductions in the correct areas. This whole process made my life and my bank account much happier. Also i got the turbotax 2014 coupon from which helped me to get this awesome program within my budget.
