I must have no life

Postby MemberSince99 » Thu Dec 19, 2013 9:13 am

Because today I was thinking how much fun it would be if I could still post on FICO, to post something along the lines of:

There is this card I REALLY REALLY want it fits very well into my profile and the rewards would make it well worth it. What do you guys think? I know I'm supposed to stay in the garden the entire rest of my life so that I don't become an international credit terrorist through the heinous act of an inquiry, but maybe you guys could cut me a little slack and allow me to apply for one card the whole rest of my life?

And then sit back and watch as the die hard fanatics preach "NO! Never apply for anything it's a crime against all humanity you'll trash your credit even worse than it already is and you'll be targeted as a criminal for this horrible thing do NOT touch that 'Submit' button, and worst of all you'll lose your bronze spade!!!! ERT on the way!!!!"

Or how about....

"Should I EVER close a credit card? I'm paying First Premier 1000 dollars a year for a credit card with a 500 limit and it just doesn't make sense to me now that my score let me get a Discover IT with a 1500 limit and no annual fee. Should I close this card and lose these parasites I really want to!"

And the answer will come:
"NO never EVER close any credit card they all help your score you will annihilate your credit Discover will AA you and have you water-boarded for acts of terrorism against credit! Do NOT lose that valuable tool in your credit arsenal!"

Or how about this classic:

"Hello guys I'm new to credit and would like to know who you think the BEST credit card company is bar none? thanks guys!"

And the answer (of course, who else could it be...)

"Amex is hands down the best, this is the crème de la crème, the elite, if you are able to get an Amex nothing else matters in credit or in life, you've MADE it. Forget the fact their off-shored CS is just a bare step above Cap One and their rewards are sub standard compared to a lot of prime lenders, this is where you wanna be!!!"

Yeah I have no life....

Try charging people to be an AU on your Amex Gold.

That's a creditboards thing, but it'll inflame FICO to no end.

Yeah I can imagine they would. I just thought of another one they'd just LOVE (they frown upon this and consider it "unethical"):

Hey guys question for you from a newbie here. I want an Amex and I know they pull EX but my EX sucks and my TU is 50 points higher. I was thinking I should just lock down my EX and EQ to force them to pull TU to increase my odds what do you think?

From what I've read on FICO, it depends on the lender. Some of them will just tell you to unfreeze whatever bureau they want to pull and insist you do that before they will consider you. Others will try to pull whatever they can. I don't know the specifics of who it works with as I've never tried it. All my scores have been reasonably close and there is really no reason to try to influence which one they pull in my case. But for those who are wanting every possible advantage it is a potential tool in the arsenal.
