It's that draw where you keep all your socks in your bedroom dresser.

I'm going to think of this every time I look at my sock draw from now on. OP I hope you come to love it as much as I love mine. I have a bit of a "Rolex Fever" and I'm afraid there's no cure. I'm not a jewelry guy either, but I've always loved watches. If you do travel with it or wear it everywhere outside of work, you may want to consider taking out a personal articles policy through your insurance company. I pay about $100-$120 a year, have $0 deductible, even if it's lost, stolen, etc.

A sock draw is when you put rocks in to a sock and put into a western style holster. Another guy does the same. At noon they meet out at the saloon. They then draw their socks on each other and tries to lob them at each other hoping that one will hit the other. Rather brutal practice in the Old West and have since then been outlawed. It is a little known fact that this was performed at the Ok Corral before the gunfight began. Doc Holliday got a good throw on one of the outlaws and many believe allowed him to survive. When not in use he would keep his in his sock drawer.
