Best Choice for Work Boots

Postby darkguy2 » Fri Dec 06, 2013 8:37 pm

I am going to have to get a pair of work boots to go onto a construction site next week and need to pick between two pairs. They are the only ones approved by one of our biggest customer to go on their sites so I might as well get one of them. Both are Timberland PROs. The first is the Endurancesand the other is the Titans. I am not going to be paying for them so I do not care about the price but have to get one of those. I will be using them very rarely so I mostly care about comfort wearing them. Any advice would be welcome.
Discover IT - $5,700
Chase Freedom - $5,700
Costco Citi - $13,000
Sallie Mae - $4,000
Chase Sapphire Preferred - $6,000
Chase Sapphire Reserve - $19,500
Citi Double Cash - $6,500
Amex BCE - $13,000

FICOs: Discover (777), SallieMae (764), Amex (767), Citi (772)
FAKOs: CK- TU (760), EQ (760)

I work on my feet all day and know this issue well. In your case, I think you should go with weight > durability. The biggest differences between these two boots: weight, leather quality, toe protection, outsole pattern. In the latter three categories, the Endurance wins, but in the first category the Titan is apparently best. I wish Timberland provided weights but just going off their copy I would get the Titan.

From talking to my co-workers the Titan is a lighter boot than the Endurance.

Since it seems like you don't really need the protection/durability, I still recommend the Titan. I now wear Merrell minimalist shoes to work; the light weight helps a lot in keeping my feet and legs happy at COB.
