"Job" scammers on the loose again

Postby MemberSince99 » Mon Oct 28, 2013 3:25 pm

I'm getting more and more of those scams where they send you rubber checks and want you to western union the money to them and the goal is to bilk you out of as much as possible before the rubber bounces and then they disappear. I got two of these just today, the one sounding like it came from Russia and then this one:

Hello,

My name is Nancy; I am HR in a big company, where I’ve received your resume, and I try to reach you on phone, but no answer.

We have a good position and we would like to discuss with you this excellent offer.

Please do not reply to this email. For further details regarding the job, please respond back to this email: vessa.sol@yandex.com

Respectfully yours,
HR Assistant

For laughs I considered responding "Really what position is that doggy is my favorite what's yours" but it just isn't worth the time....

Just be careful people, there are a lot of scammers out there looking to part you from your money. If they don't know your name, if their English is broken and horrible, if they offer big bucks for a bunch of lame skills (like good time management and reliable) that any McDonald's burger flipper would have, or if they want you to process payments for them because for some reason their big successful company can't manage to accept payments, RUN, it's a scam.

I'd love to play along and hopefully get them to fly me in for an interview. Haahha
