Bought another Chevy.

Postby rhipsher » Thu Oct 03, 2013 9:02 pm

Surprised my wife with a brand new 2013 Chevy Cruze LTZ fully loaded. She's been driving a 2003 Eddie Bauer Expedition. But at 180k miles it was on it's last leg. When I walked her out front and put the FOB in her hand she cried. That alone was worth it. This is the first time I've ever bought a brand new car. I usually buy used with 20K miles on them.

It has 6 months free OnStar, Nav, XM, Backup camera. A pretty little peppy 1.4 turbo in it that get's 38mpg hiway and 30mpg city. Now I have two red Chevy's. One is very practical. And the other one is a monster.

Thanks. I will just keep driving the ole 2002 Mazda 626 to work and back. Eventually I'll get me something shiny and new to replace it with soon. Probably an SUV. I'm thinking Chevy Traverse. Or Infiniti Q whatever they call them lol!

Way to treat your wife. Congrats! How was your experience at Westside Chevy? My wife and I got a Forrester from Westside Subaru. Don't know if they are same ownership but it was a great experience.

They were great to deal with. I was in and outta there in 1.45 minutes. I went to Auto Nation. Planet Ford. Westside Kia. Saw lot's of Ford Focuses and Fusions but just didn't see anything we liked. My wife liked the Fiat 500 and asked me what I thought of it. I said honey! I love you but no self respecting man with a set of testicles would be caught driving something like that lol! So we went back home and I decided to sneak out to Westside Chevrolet since it was right down the street. And thought the Cruze was a pretty nice looking car that I wouldn't be embarrassed to drive if I had to lol! It was in the showroom and they didn't mind at all moving the Camaro's out of the way so I could test drive it outside. I was very happy with them.

Congrats on the new ride -- she's a beauty! I'm sure the look on your wife's face alone was worth the price of admission.

In related news, you have the first C4-gen ZR1! That's amazing! Keep it in good condition; it'll be worth a lot in the not-too-distant future. Same reason I'm keeping my C6 Z06 forever even as I move on to German cars...

When this ZR-1 fell into my lap I thought holy S&%t I'd better jump on this because I haven't even seen one in about 15 years since I lived in California. I bought it off a 68 year old man. We negotiated over several scotches on the rocks lol! before he decided to part with it for a price we could both agree on. It's a decision I will never regret. My 2009 ZR1 is awesome but it's still based upon the LS7 architecture. Where as the LT5 was totally different in every way.
