I purchased the 5s on the day that it came out. I upgraded from the 4s. There is a significant difference in speed (not to mention LTE). Apps open up a lot faster and the battery is also much better compared to the 4s. My buddy upgraded from the 4 and loves it. My opinion is that the screen is big enough for a phone... although I dont want to start a fight over that now. The 5c I find to be a joke. I held it in my hand inside the ATT store... It felt like a 5 with a perfectly molded case around it that still didnt belong there. Not a fan of it at all. There is a much improved change in the camera and taking pictures in low light conditions. I took a pic inside my room when it was completely dark, turned out to look like there was sufficient back lighting coming from other lights beside the flash. Again, please do not make the mistake to upgrade to the 5c just because you like the color or want to save 100 bucks. These 100 bucks will buy you a lot more updated technology. The 5c is basically the old 5 wrapped in plastic.

As noted by the people who did it, their process is not a breakthrough in cracking fingerprint security.

As for the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, 9 million units sold in the first weekend is insanely huge.

nothing is 100% secure;
- passcode
- that pattern on the andriods

i like the fact that i dont have to enter in a code when i want to unlock my phone. as far as fingerprints go, i surrendered those when i entered the us the past 1000x

I would imagine that if this group gets ahold of your phone, a 4 digit pin would not do much good ether. It does mean though that they have to have the device in hand for a fair amount of time before they can do anything. And, hopefully by that time you can enact the iCloud lost iPhone feature, And brick the thing. From what I understand, unless they have your Apple ID, it is now impossible to activate the phone on any carrier anywhere.

Yeah the 5C seems like a joke from an experienced iPhone user. However I guess it's all relative; I came from a 3 yr old Blackberry before coming to a 3GS last year, which I soon upgraded to the 4. Fast forward three months later, and my 4 seems way outdated and slow; it sometimes is a bad idea to try out new things!

But I was in Scottsdale, AZ the other night playing with the new 5's, and some guy was purchasing a blue 5C for his son, looked like he was 10 years old. Kinda crazy that our next generation gets to play with all this technology.

Seriously though, you're only saving $50/ yr. against the 5S. It's almost a no-brainer if you've ever owned an iPhone before to go to the 5S.

I'm debating whether or not to hold out for the price to drop on the old 5 (used), or just to bite the bullet and pay $400-ish via eBay/Craigslist etc. My current 4 doesn't really take the new IOS7 as well as I thought it would- slower to open apps, older processor, etc, not to mention a-now-crappier camera. I'm torn.

Other side of the coin is, is the old 5 going to retain its value over the long run? I noticed it's now discontinued with the new 5's in motion...

i bit, even though i said i was going to wait until the 6 or 6s comes out.

i dropped my 5 so many times (screen isn't cracked thank goodness) and its on sprint, which really sucks in my area (slowed down considerably since i first signed up for sprint two years ago..)

so i decided to go switch to verizon, and since this phone is formatted for sprint..i am sure if i tweek it..maybe..it can be used on verizon's platform. or not.

i just used this as a reason to get a new phone (contract expired in july)

and on a better network..though not having unlimited data sucks, and its more expensive just for 2gb...........however half the time my phone gets really slow, or no coverage. there are times i have to close and open the phone to get the signal going again once I move to another spot..not sure if this is because of the phone dropage or the coverage or both.

i got the 5s b/c even though the colours on C looks cute, I prefer the 5s look--and its close enough to mine that if I just put on a case, no one will know I got a new one..unless they look carefully for the gold edges :) couldn't resist that..

plus got $50 back via ebates. (<-worth waiting for the phone to ship rather then going in right before store closes and finding a sympathetic apple tech to lemme buy one they have on reserve for the following days) 22% discount with work on phone plan..

I almost got it on Tmobile but I don't like buying without contract..sim card version would be nice when traveling overseas tho

I recently switched from a 4 to a 5 (regular)- my goodness is it a different world on IOS7.

The processor and camera speeds are more than worth the upgrade. What's even better was I was using a 3GS for a year, got a 4 in July, and got my 5 a couple weeks ago. Being on a no-contract service provider, I sold my phones for what I paid for them on eBay, and got the 5 for about $350 via eBay. Not great, but not bad I suppose.

As far as the 6 would go- I'm not a fan of the bigger screens on the market (IE Samsung), because I simply am not the guy who needs to watch movies/tv shows on my phone all day, as I've heard that will be the next "improvement" on the iPhone lineup. I'm just not their right customer I suppose.

If they do I'll eventually get a 5S and probably hang out for awhile until it dies.

Now the other Apple products coming out soon/next year seem pretty cool- retina display iPad minis, 12" macbooks w/ retina display + Macbook Air form factor, etc.

umm....Not sure what to take of this.

i get that it is spoused to be "funny". But damn he is kinda of an ass. There are changes....and the video camera thing was years and years ago. Back before smartphones where even popular.

To each here own though. But its obvious that this guy is an android fanboy and apple could do nothing to impress him.
