Verizon has a great 4G network.

After hurricane Sandy lower New York City was without power for a few weeks. My friend who has VZW service was able to get signal due to Verizon's handling of the situation (still had to charge the phone elsewhere). I know other providers stepped up too and at some point everyone has outages and issues but I like the reassurance.

I highly recommend that people stick to either AT&T or Verizon if they can afford it. I currently have both providers and it is great. I think overall the AT&T network is better and faster but where AT&T isn't so good Verizon picks up. This is mainly in rural areas (Utah) and AT&T's network drops to their 2G Edge network, good for calls but data is terrible, Verizon data is at least 3G or LTE everywhere. In the city I have to say you can't beat AT&T with voice and data at the same time and AT&T's LTE network is super fast.

Nismo, if you are an individual try to get the individual plan (450/900/Unlimited Minutes). Although not advertised on Verizon's website they are still in the system and they can be had. I'm on Verizon now but I would still give ATT another look, they improved a lot and they still offer the most variety with plans.
