Maseratti... reviews and comments

Postby FastSRT8 » Sat Aug 17, 2013 9:53 pm

Guys / Gals...

Anyone know first hand or have heard from others what their ownership experience is with the Maseratti brand?

Went to the dealer yesterday and was looking at their sedan offering....

Which sedan, the Ghibli or the larger Quattoporte?

I don't have a lot of experience with Maserati...they just opened a dealership in my city in the last 18 months. Since then, I've been seeing more and more of them, mostly the Granturismo coupe. That car typically competes with Aston Martin Vantages, Audi R8s, Mercedes coupes >$100K, etc. The Ghibli is a E-class/5 series competitor and the Quattroporte is a S class/7 series competitor.

The big thing about Maserati is exclusivity. Do you mind seeing yourself drive what everyone else has if you go for BMW or MB? Do you like the joint engineering with Ferrari? Do you like/mind the eccentricities that sometimes come with Italian cars?

Maserati has not had a big precence in North America until recent years. But with parent Fiat firmly back in the North American game with their acquisition of Chrysler, that means a better supply chain for dealers and parts. And they look way cool.

I have 2008 sedan before. it is roomy and engine sounds great. Ride is smooth. However interior tech is subpar. I knew they redesign the interior in the new model so it will help. you got to think what you want. you mght also consider new 2014 MB S550

Top Gear called the Quattroporte the closest thing you could get to a four-door Ferrari.

I was looking at the new Ghibli.... the Quattoporte is way large for a daily driver. It's longer than the S class

friend of mine has the sport and absolutely loves it. It isnt as finicky as his 430 and still gets the thrills hes looking for. Very fun ride, just gotta watch for pot holes in the city!

Thanks!!

I'm loving this Maserati more and more.....

It's my top contender now over any AMG product which I find is too common.

Friend of mine just picked this up and has been loving it so far. Got to drive it and it's decently quick and exhaust note is ear tingling. Are you only looking at sedans? Jaguar's new F Type coupe is something else and not as common as BMW's and M-Benz.
