capital one pun: "whats YOUR wallet"?

Postby Kaiokenryu » Mon Aug 12, 2013 9:46 pm

I know this is very strange but its an area that I give a lot of thought to because I use it is one of only two items in my life that go everywhere with me. My coworkers laugh at me.....my father disagrees with me.

My question is....what is your wallet. I still write checks weekly....and carry about two credit cards and 5 service cards. This necessitates that I use a secretary wallet. I absolutely love my wallet and find myself just holding it cause I like how it feels. I nourish the leather monthly and have gotten some compliments on the style it exudes over a bi/trifold wallet.

My coworkers joke that its a woman's wallet.....because a bi/trifold is all they know.

I have had mine for nearing 8 years. It has darkened over the years from a boring tan to a deep brown with hints of red. It has slapped many a friend....been thrown out of a moving car by an angry ex....hidden by my now 2 year old twice.....washed by accident....and hasn't lost a single stitch or had a defect yet.

For some....wallets are nearly a safe way to carry money. For me....its a way to subtly show what I like. When I pull it out....its like looking at my life in hindsight.

Any wallet stories out there?

Until I find something better, my wallet is a blue broccoli rubber band.

Mine is a chunky green leather Anne Klein II wallet I got as a Christmas gift about 20 years ago. About once every five years, I notice that the leather is peeling on the inside, and I think about replacing it, but I don't really see anything appealing, and I go on another five years without thinking about it. :o)

Aww, I just realized that a secretary wallet is similar to a clutch wallet. I was looking all over the place for one of those last year when I was in Dallas... I could barely find anything, and the colors were horrible. Thanks for helping me find the name for it. :o) And now that I know what it looks like, your wallet sounds awesome, Kaiokenryu. :o)

I was looking into getting a secretary wallet also, as my card count is increasing and I want to include my check book into my wallet. Any good sources for the secretary wallet. I haven't found one I like for features, good price and build quality.

Currently, I have a Michael Kors Jacquard wallet. I kind of have wallet ADD, so I switch around a lot.

I have one Kickstarter wallet on order and I'm considering another. Haven't pulled the trigger on the second one, yet, but I'm torn. The aluminum one matches the iPhone perfectly, but the brass is just badass.

Wow! Djrez4, I really want the first one now! Looks great.

As for me, I use a checkbook wallet. Holds everything I need but as a guy it looks a bit odd (Due to the color). I'm in the market for a new one.
