BMW or Mercedes?

Postby lexrj » Wed Jul 31, 2013 7:45 pm

Got my 1st Mercedes (C class) 2yrs ago and was loving it until it was time to upgrade, so I test drove the new 5 series and E class. I have to say, I do prefer the looks of the E class but the 5 series driving is surreal. Not only that but the maintenance costs on BMW's are way lower since its include at no additional costs.
Got a new 5 series 1 month ago and couldn't be happier.
BMW for me all the way!

Just drove all the BMW M cars the other day on a racetrack and I must say.... the M5 is the best damn all around car in the market now. WOW.... holy cow batman.

Saw the new M6 sedan (4 doors) at the dealership and it was the coolest looking car ever, unfortunately out of my budget. Have you drove that one? It should be better than the M5.....

Yes, I drove that one too; M6 grand coupe. It's no where near as good as the M5. It feels heavier and not as toss able. It does look cool agreed but when comparing pure driving pleasure, the M5 hands down is still king.

yeah but RWD in the winter is a nightmare and on bumpy roads the M5 is still as uncomfortable as a rock up the ass with a geologist picking at it.

Love the M cars, but for summer driving only, and avoid the bad roads at all cost.

Agreed. The ride is on the harder side. Must be cuz they made it with track first in mind.

My first car was a Mercedes 450SL convertible, and it was a great car. Mercedes appeal to me more than BMWs as far as interior and exterior looks go, but the newer BMWs I've driven are amazing to drive, and really that's what counts. Since my first car was a Mercedes, every time I drive a BMW I feel like I'm cheating on a girlfriend or something. I like both car companies a lot, I just can't pick a side.
