A kudos to Amazon

Postby MemberSince99 » Tue Jul 30, 2013 9:02 pm

I ordered an item off Amazon and paid for it with my Amex. It should have been delivered last Friday but the tracking got "stuck" on Thursday and has not updated since and the item wasn't delivered. Finally today I wrote Amazon asking for help. The responded the item must have gotten lost (how does UPS lose stuff anyway?) and sent me out new stuff at no charge.

Now that is service. I mean sure, I could have opened a dispute with Amex and shown them the tracking info as proof I never got it and I'm sure they would have found in my favor, but Amazon went to the plate to bat for me, which is a big reason I buy there because I know they will stand behind what I buy. I've bought a LOT from them and only had issues with a few things out of thousands and they always took care of me.

The good news is this is normal practice for them. Amazon has very good service.

Glad it turned out in your favor. I had a similar experience with Gamestop when my game order didn't update through USPS for about 8 days. I sent them a email about it and they were more than happy to reimburse me or send me another copy. 1 week later, both games arrived same day. I emailed them about it cause I didn't want to be a douche and keep both games after their service. They told me to keep it as an apology for the extended wait.

I'm in the middle of a Prime trial right now. It's quite the service. Ordering something in the office bathroom and having it show up two days later is neat. I may keep it.

I've had Prime for 3 years now, its so awesome. Amazon Instant Video is a nice perk of that.

Amazon is great. Once, I ordered several items and they forgot to include one of the items in the order. No problem; they shipped it to me overnight!!

And once I tried out Amazon Prime, I haven't reverted back. Totally worth the annual fee, IMO.

I agree on Prime. I used to be too cheap to pay for it then I always got 2nd day shipping anyway and spent way MORE money being cheap. I make fun of my employer when they do the same but maybe I should cut them some slack after doing that.....anyway it's well worth it if you order from them a lot.

Here's my favorite thing about Prime, if I order something Monday night after the usual cutoff time for shipping, they will ship out on Tuesday overnight so that I get it Wednesday, therefore keeping their 2 day delivery. Not only is Amazon usually one of the cheapest ways to go it is also convenient, good service and reliable. I have bought a lot off Amazon and haven't had something lost in shipping but if I do ever have that happen I know I will get taken care of.
